Witcher 3 Remastered transmog is called Reforge. It changes how a piece of equipment looks without touching its stats, so you can wear the armor with the best numbers and the look you like. Only two master craftsmen offer it: Yoana for armor and Hattori for weapons, and you have to unlock both through their quests first. Reforge is one of the headline additions in the Witcher 3 Remastered patch notes.

Ordinary smiths and armorers do not offer Reforge. Because the two craftsmen split the work, an item you want to restyle may only appear in one of their menus.

- Every piece of equipment and every crafting diagram you add to your inventory unlocks its appearance.
- Items sitting in your stash may not count until you move them into your inventory once.

What Reforge keeps: stats, set bonuses and dyes
- Stats: armor values, damage and set bonuses stay with the original item. Only the look changes.
- Dyes: Blood and Wine dyes carry over to reforged items, so you can recolor a reforged look too. Blood and Wine comes with every remaster download.
Transmog pairs well with a rebuilt character: pick gear for the build you planned on the new skill tree, then reforge it to the witcher school look you prefer.
How to reforge an item
- Finish Master Armorers for Yoana or Of Swords and Dumplings for Hattori.
- Collect the gear or diagram whose look you want, and keep it in your inventory.
- Talk to Yoana for armor or Hattori for weapons and open the Reforge option.
- Pick the item you wear, then the appearance you want it to take.
